How to Choose Travel Programs

Compare travel programs by commission model, cookie window, country coverage and payout rules, with four real options as worked examples.

Start with the model, not the percentage

Travel programs pay in a few recognisable shapes, and the options here cover most of them. Divebooker Distribution Partner runs on a revenue share model, while Naver Shopping Connect and the Expedia Group Travel Creator Program run on cost per sale. CashKaro sits apart again, because its only listed feature is referral, so money arrives when you introduce a friend rather than when a booking completes.

The model decides what you are paid for. A revenue share pays out of the booking value, so a high-value trip earns more than a short one. A cost per sale model pays for each completed purchase or booking, so earnings lean on volume rather than trip price. Naver Shopping Connect records a cost per sale model alongside a cost per action commission model, and it tracks every click through a dedicated creator link.

Read a commission figure in context

Headline rates are not comparable on their own. Divebooker Distribution Partner commission terms are 30% revenue share per liveaboard booking, which is a share of what the trip is worth. The Expedia Group Travel Creator Program terms are Up to 4% per qualifying booking, a smaller slice of a much larger basket. Naver Shopping Connect terms are Commission per sale or booking via link, so there is no single rate to memorise.

CashKaro works on a different basis again, and its commission terms are 10% of friend's cashback. Recurring commission is a yes for the brand, so a referral keeps paying for as long as your friend keeps shopping. Weigh that against the larger but one-off payout of a liveaboard booking.

Cookie windows decide how long a booking counts

Cookie windows across travel programs run 1 to 90. The widest of the four is Divebooker Distribution Partner at 90, which suits scuba trips that are planned months in advance. The Expedia Group Travel Creator Program window is from 7, so a traveller who books shortly after your link counts for more than one who comes back later.

Both Divebooker Distribution Partner and the Expedia Group Travel Creator Program carry a direct feature and a referral feature, so you can run a tracked link and a word-of-mouth route at the same time. CashKaro offers the referral route only, and Naver Shopping Connect the direct route only.

Where each program operates

Geography narrows the field fast. Divebooker Distribution Partner is the only global option of the four, and travel is its only vertical. CashKaro and Naver Shopping Connect are both single-country programmes, with headquarters in IN and KR respectively, while the Expedia Group Travel Creator Program sits in US.

Verticals matter just as much. CashKaro covers retail, travel and health, so a travel link sits beside other categories. Naver Shopping Connect covers retail and travel, and its legal entity is NAVER Corp. A publisher who wants every click to point at travel bookings will find the narrowest, clearest fit at Divebooker Distribution Partner.

Getting paid

Payout mechanics differ more than rates do. Naver Shopping Connect payout frequency is per completed purchase/booking, and its advertiser fee is Seller-set usage fee, paid only on sales, so the seller carries the usage cost and it applies only when a sale happens. CashKaro has a payout threshold of INR 250 and pays out by bank transfer or gift card, with support through a help centre.

Maturity gives a second read on reliability. CashKaro was founded in 2013 and Naver Shopping Connect in 1999, with a publisher base of 150,000. The Expedia Group Travel Creator Program traces back to from 1,996 and operates as Expedia Group, Inc.

Recurring income or a single payment

Recurring commission is a yes for CashKaro and a no for Divebooker Distribution Partner, Naver Shopping Connect and the Expedia Group Travel Creator Program. If repeat payments matter to you, that single line narrows the choice sharply, and the referral features at Divebooker Distribution Partner and the Expedia Group Travel Creator Program leave a second route alongside direct links.

Where payouts are one-off, the size of each booking matters more than the number of clicks. A revenue share then rewards you for high-value trips, while a cost per sale model rewards you for consistency across many smaller bookings.

Where to read next

Work through the full list of Travel programs by model, then read the individual write-ups: CashKaro, Naver Shopping Connect, Divebooker Distribution Partner and the Expedia Group Travel Creator Program.

Apply the same three checks to each: the commission model and what it pays out of, the cookie window against how far ahead your travellers book, and the payout rules including any threshold and the markets you can reach.
